Turkey Seller Stabbed By Debtor's Son In Benue

The trader was stabbed by a debtor's son while trying to retrieve a debt.

A Turkey seller in Benue State was on Tuesday, November 18, stabbed severally by a debtor's son after trying to retrieve a debt.

According to , a Benue State local newspaper, the problem ensued after a woman reportedly bought turkey from the victim on credit with the promise to pay back in no distant time.

When the unnamed trader tried to get his money, he was tricked by the woman. After several attempts to get his money back, he decided to storm the house of the woman and this was when argument erupted between him and the customer’s son who reportedly broke a bottle and used it to stab the trader repeatedly.

The turkey trader was stabbed on the neck and was rushed to St. Mary Comprehensive Health Centre, and was later transferred to  St. Mary Hospital, Okpoga where he is currently recovering.

The woman and her son have fled the village since the incident.
