For allegedly destroying a betting ticket said to be worth N2 million, a young man has been stabbed to death by his friend during a fight in the Central Area in Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State, reports Calabar Reporters.

It was gathered that the suspect identified only as Sleek, had staked some money on a popular betting site  as take home win. Luckily for him, when the result was announced, he was confirmed to have won.

Sleek was said to have called his friends to join him in the celebration and as they were jubilating, one of his friends allegedly snatched the ticket from his hands and promptly put it in his mouth and chewed it.

The action was said to have infuriated Sleek who engaged his friend in a fight which later turned bloody after he removed a knife used by a roadside trader and stabbed his friend several times in the stomach, chest and head.

The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital but he could not survive it as he had lost so much blood and died before doctors could commence treatment.

The suspect was immediately handed over to the police.
