NFL Legend Christian Okoye Slams President Jonathan: "You Failed"

The athlete states that the "public" forced Jonathan to do something about the abducted girls.

One of the most famous Nigerian-born athletes of all time, NFL legend, Christian Okoye slams President Goodluck Jonathan; saying he FAILED to take immediate action after about 276 girls were kidnapped in his country and that makes him "sick".

Okoye – who lived in Nigeria until he was 21 – told TMZ Sports last Thursday that "It's very unfortunate that things like this [terror crisis] can go on without the world's knowledge." He goes all hard on the President stating that, "It had been almost 4 weeks and [Jonathan] hadn't done anything ... I'm happy people outside the country got involved because it prompted [him] to finally do something about it."

Within the last two weeks, the story went global - with some of the most powerful people in the world (including Michelle Obama) raising awareness using the hashtag "BringBackOurGirls"."The public outcry forced his hand," Okoye says ... "and it shouldn't have been the reason why he did something." He also blames corruption as the main instrument to such ills in the country especially after Jonathan fired the governor of Nigeria's Central Bank Sanusi Lamido Sanusi when he learned the guy was investigating the disappearance of $20 BILLION in the country's oil revenue. However, Okoye is now relieved that international nations made the difference, "I'm happy people outside the country pushed the President to do something. I hope that the awareness leads to the end of the crisis."

Christian has joined Professor Wole Soyinka in blasting the President's manner of handling the popular abduction issue.
