To serve God is truth, it is best to cut off an annoying penis.

This may sound weird and so far fetched but it is a true story of a 27-year-old man who decided to cut off his own penis so as to concentrate on the 21 Days Fasting and Prayers declared by his church.

According to Code Wit World News, the young man who claimed to be a member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, wanted to live by the Biblical injunction that if one part of one's body should lead him to sin, it is better that part is cut off, so he saw his manhood as that part that is capable of leading him to sin and thereby rendering his  prayers useless, so the best thing is to cut off that instrument of destruction.

According to the report, the 'born again'  chap, on Sunday, January 18, 2015, took the step because though he was doing great with his fasting and prayers, his manhood was leading him into naughty thought that could distract him from achieving his purpose of being more dedicated to God, as he was getting erections daily and so, to avoid any temptation, he had to slice off the stubborn thing.

It was in the process of cutting off his 'thing' that neighbours tried to stop him but this is the reason he reportedly gave for taking the action:

"The penis has a mind of its own and it is capable of doing things which are totally out of my control.

It usually gets erect every now and then, and konji sets in. And you know that konji is one of the things that leads people into sin. The erections were making me weaker spiritually and in the fast.

That is why I cut it off. Even Jesus Christ said that we should cut off anything which will make us sin.”

He is still in the hospital responding to treatment, while hoping the penis grows back after the fasting and prayers!
