A driver turned kidnapper, Solomon Michael, who was arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly organising the abduction of his female boss, Alhaja Modupe Idris, a business tycoon in Idumota market, has confessed that he plotted the kidnap because the woman maltreated him.

Michael who was paraded at the Command Headquarters in Ikeja alongside his comrades in crime, Ibrahim Sozza, Thankgod Husseni, Paul Brutus and Suleiman Mohammed, was also said to have robbed the victim and her sister, Alhaja Risikat Laminu.

After the operation, Emmanuel and his gang gave me the Toyota SUV, smart phone and one I-pad as my share of the loot.

Immediately I collected it, Ibrahim and I travelled to Jos, Plateau State, to meet Thankgod Husseni, who we earlier told about the operation. It was Husseni that helped us sell our loot.  He sold the SUV to one Brutus for N400, 000.”

The crime, according to the police, took place sometime in September, 2015, Alhaja Idris was kidnapped and it turned out that it was his driver who had worked with her for two years that was behind the plan.

It was gathered that on September 30, Emmanuel, the alleged gang leader who is now on the run, and his gang trailed the Alhaja from her shop to Surulere area in Lagos, at about 9:30pm, where they hit her vehicle from the behind, feigning an  accident.

Immediately, Michael, her driver, stopped the vehicle and went down to check the extent of damage the accident caused, the gang struck, robbed and kidnapped Alhaja Modupe, her sister, Alhaja Laminu and her house maid, who were inside a black Toyota SUV with  number plate LSR871BM.
