A whole town’s police department quits in one day
The entire police squad Green Mountain Falls, Colorado, USA, resigned from their positions without giving any explanation whatsoever.
The multi-resignation was said to be sparked by the resignation of Tim Bradley as Police Marshal of the Colorado town. The small town's three other volunteer officers swiftly resigned after the Police boss quit his position with no apparent explanation.
Although mystery still surrounds the mass resignation, an anonymous source told Colorado news outlet, Fox 21, that officers were unhappy with police policy and the newly-elected mayor, Jane Newberry.
The new mayor, whose election sparked the resignations said:
"In an election year there’s always some people who choose to stay and some people who choose to go and I think that happens at every level of government.
"He [the resigned marshal] is pursuing other opportunities as I understand and good luck to him but that’s not to say that we are without police coverage.
"There’s no reason anybody needs to worry. We are a small community and it’s one of our advantages is we all look out for each other."
It is understood the new mayor will advertise for replacement officers as soon as the town’s budgets are decided.
