Wife stabs husband to over money in Enugu

A woman has been arrested for allegedly stabbing her husband over money.

Bloody knife

A 26-year-old housewife identified as Joy Umeh, is surely not experiencing any joy at the moment after she allowed her anger to take control of her emotions, leading her to brutally stab her husband, Sunday, when he could not provide money for the family.

The dreadful incident, according to a statement state police released, happened on Tuesday, August 25, at the family residence at 13, Unubi Sreet, Achara Layout, in the Uwani area of the state.

It was learnt that trouble started for the young family who have a child between them, when Joy asked Sunday to provide money to enable her go to the market and purchase food items for the family but he told her he had no money to give to her and that led to a quarrel with the wife calling him an irresponsible husband.

Not willing to be called names by his wife, Sunday reportedly went after Joy but she dashed into the kitchen, picked up a knife and buried it in his stomach.
