Perverts 2 men in prison for gang-raping 13-yr-old girl inside church

Two perverted men have been remanded in prison custody for allegedly gang-raping a 13-year-old girl inside a church in Lagos.

Two perverted men, Samuel Oriko and Joseph Bassey, have been remanded in prison by an Ogba Magistrates Court sitting in Lagos State for allegedly gang-raping a 13-year-old girl inside a church premises.

PM Express reports that the sacrilegious incident happened inside a Cherubim and Seraphim Church located at Oladipo Banjo Street in Oke-Ira area of Ogba, Lagos, when they ambushed the girl on her way home in the evening and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her.

A police source informed that both the suspects and the victim reside in the same area and attend the same church where the incident happened.

The accused were charged with unlawfully having carnal knowledge of the victim by penetrating her through her vagina.

It was also gathered that the suspects lured the victim to the back of the church in the evening when other worshipers were inside the church auditorium praying and forced her to remove her pant before they took turns to rape her.

It was learned that Oriko was the first to sexually assault her after which Bassey took over and it was in the process that they were caught in the act.

The matter was reported to the police at Area 'G' Command, Ogba, leading to the arrest of the suspects and subsequently charged to court under the Criminal Code.

When the charges were read to the suspects, they both pleaded not guilty and the presiding Magistrate granted them bail in the sum of N1 million each with two sureties in like sum.

But they were ordered to be remanded in prison custody pending when they will perfect their bail conditions while the matter was adjourned till June 26, 2017, for hearing.
