A 17-year-old boy has stabbed his older brother to death over an argument about a stolen cell phone.

According to Daily Trust, the teenage suspect who disappeared after he stabbed the brother whose name was given as Mohammed Abubakar, a specialist in phone repairs, had been caught several times with stolen phones, both by the brother and outsiders.

On the day of the incident, Abubakar had complained of a missing phone he was repairing for a client and had accused the younger sibling of stealing it.

According to residents of Zone 5 in Dutse, Bwari Area Council of the Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory where the incident happened, trouble started on Friday, 23 January, 2015, when Abubakar realised that one of the phones he was working on was missing and accosted the younger brother to find out if the phone was in his possession.

The teenager took offence in the accusation and in an angry mood, dashed into the kitchen and came out with a knife with which he used to stab his older brother.

When he saw his brother fall to the ground with blood pouring out of him, the suspect took to his heels and has not been seen while the deceased was rushed to a clinic but was pronounced dead on arrival.
