The Nigerian act breaks down her style of music, which is surprisingly pop oriented, and the meaning of her name.

"Well its hard to describe it. I am singing about Africa, the experiences, the folk stories, Afro-Pop in many ways" said The Venus Bushfires. "I came up with that idea of describing my music when I was in London" she further said.
Obvious that her form of Afro-Pop is different from the type prevalent in Nigeria, she later went on to say her style of music can be tagged as "Afro folk pop".
