Award-winning singer, 2Face Idibia has to be the most talked about celebrity, but he goes about his business without taking things personal.

Having being in the news for almost 2 decades, 2face has had to deal with many reports, true and untrue, including the breakup with Plantashun Boiz, his baby mamas, wedding to Annie Idibia, and most recently, a rumour of him impregnating his account officer.

But the Hypertek Records CEO is letting none of that get to him, opting to keep his corner simple, and admit the truth in all his dealings.

I do read about a whole lot of stuff. I put myself out there, and people are definitely going to say one or two things”. 2Face told Olisa Adibua on the talk show, 'The Truth'. “For me, I'm somebody that is very realistic, and I don't hide nothing about myself.”

He continued, “Everything about me is out there, the truth, I don't hide the truth. If you say something that is true, I say 'oh ah' na true. Shikena, so be it. If it's not true, I say it's not true. And over the years, I've learnt not to let those kind of things get to me.”

When 2face released his famous 'Only Me', song, detractors were quick to label it a diss on Super Eagles footballer, John Mikel Obi. But it wasn't true, 2face said, choosing to laugh it off.

Mikel is a very talented guy, and he has always represented Nigeria. I want to meet the guy that started it. That guy can market some things.”

In 2 decades, the state of the Nigerian industry has continually evolved, with bigger investment, better structures making the business more lucrative. 2Face Idibia believes it's all good for the game, and admits his evergreen relevance in the market.

I started a long time ago, 17 years ago. And in that time, I have had my time, I've had my heydays. That time there was no focus on Africa, it wasn't like the way it is now. When people are getting aware of stuff, it's the people that are right there at that time that will definitely (be shown).”

I'm still out there, I'm still relevant, and I'm still doing my thing. I'm not going nowhere, and I'm not in a competition with anybody. I'm on my own lane, and I'm waiting for every other person that came after me to spend the amount of time that I have spent in the industry, and then that time, we can talk.”

2face Idibia recently lost his father to prostate cancer. His 6 studio album, 'The Ascension', is currently the fastest selling album on iTunes Nigeria.
