Artistes speak on 'Blurred Lines' copyright infringement ruling

In a joint statement released by the trio, they said the ruling creates a bad precedent for the music industry

Robin Thicke, Pharrell for jacking the soul legend's 1977 song 'Got To Give It Up', and incorporating it into the 2013 hit single 'Blurred Lines'.

In a joint statement released by the trio, they said the ruling creates a bad precedent for the music industry. "While we respect the judicial process, we are extremely disappointed in the ruling made today, which sets a horrible precedent for music and creativity going forward" read the statement.

"Pharrell created 'Blurred Lines' from his heart, mind and soul and the song was not taken from anyone or anywhere else." The statement went on to say that the acts are considering options concerning the court ruling. "We are reviewing the decision, considering our options and you will hear more from us soon about this matter" said the statement.
