Star says new 'soulful' album will sound 'timeless'

Speaking to MTV, the singer said she wanted to record an album she could "perform in 15 years", and revealed she had grown tired of some of her older material.

Rihanna has teased fans with the direction of her next studio album, claiming the new songs will sound 'soulful' and feel 'timeless'.

Speaking to MTV, the singer said she wanted to record an album she could "perform in 15 years", and revealed she had grown tired of some of her older material. "I've made a lot of songs that are just really big songs...they just blow up," said Rihanna."Not that they weren't real music, but I just wanted to focus on things that felt real, that felt soulful, that felt forever. I wanted songs that I could perform in 15 years. I wanted an album that I could perform in 15 years, not any songs that were burnt out."I find that when I get on stage now I don't want to perform a lot of my songs because they don't feel like me. So I want to make songs that are timeless."

Rihanna was recently announced as the new face of Dior, joining the likes of actresses Jennifer Lawrence, Charlize Theron and Marion Cotillard.
