R. Kelly is getting richer despite facing his sex crime woes as his music sales have skyrocketed.

A few weeks ago the R&B singer has been found guilty of racketeering and sex crimes. However, the verdict hasn’t hurt his music sales. He is rather experiencing the opposite despite campaigns to mute his music.

Rolling Stone reports that R Kelly’s music sales have jumped up 517 percent since the jury delivered hos verdict on Sept. 27. The uptick hasn’t just been music sales as the 54-year-old singer’s on-demand audio streams are also up by 22 percent.

He reportedly went from 5.4 million on-demand audio streams per week in 2017 to average around 6.4 million in the last 10 months.

This spike in sales for the musician is coming few days after YouTube removed multiple R. Kelly channels and songs from its platform.

However, the ‘If I Could Turn Back The Hands Of Tim’ singer, who for years reigned over the world of R&B, still has music available on YouTube music and third-party uploads of his songs are still allowed.

The R&B star, real name, Robert Sylvester Kelly, was found guilty in September of nine criminal counts, including the most serious of racketeering, following six weeks of testimonies accusing him of systematically recruiting women and teenagers for sex, before grooming and brutally abusing them.

He is currently in custody and faces up to life in prison, with his sentencing hearing scheduled for May 4.
