5 music groups we would love to see make a comeback

We take a look at five groups who need to get back in the studio again and produce another album.

Even though they are not an official group, and they never released an official project, the Choc Boyz were seen as one the finest rap units during their prime from 2008 to 2012. In 2012 Jesse Jagz left the fold by choosing not to renew his deal with Chocolate City.

With Ice Prince and M.I left, it never really felt like the Choc Boyz again. Let's not forget about BrymO bouncing too.

So while we await for the return of the boys from Jos, we have listed five groups that we will like to see comeback.

1) Plantashun Boyz - Made up of the trio, Faze, Black Face and 2face, the group is regarded as the foundation of R&B/Pop in Nigeria. With their stellar debut album Body and Soul still regarded as one of the finest albums of the last twenty years, the group from FESTAC Town is ripe for another reunion album. Their two last albums weren't on the same level as the fast. To balance history it would be cool for them to reunite and produce another dope album.

2) Styl Plus - Widely regarded as the finest R&B group Nigeria has ever witnessed, their legacy feels incomplete. The talented threesome of Zeal, Tunde and Sunky have underachieved in the grand scheme of thins. At their prime they did not fully take advantage of their fame to release and promote great albums. The tide quickly turned against them, and it was hard for the group to taken seriously years later. Tunde broke out of the fold years later. With classics like 'Olufunmi' and 'Runaway', their is still a strong desire from Nigerians to hear songs like these one last time. Hopefully the tree guys can come back and give us some of that Styl Plus magic.

3) Remedies - This pop group doesn't get the credit it desrves. It brought about the entrance of urban and pop music in Nigeria in 1998 with the release of its debut single 'Sha ko mo'. It also had two future influential stars within its fold Toni Tetuila and Eedris Abdulkareem. The third member Eddy Remedy also went on to have a relatively successful career. The group only one album, and by that time Toni Tetuila was no longer a member. Despite a couple of their artistic cracks (Toni's off-key voice and Eedris' shaky rhymes) it would be good to hear an exit album from the fathers of contemporary pop in Nigeria.

4) Trybesmen - This is another case of a group not maximizing its potential to the fullest. The Lagos based rap crew made up of eLDee, KB and Freestyle released their ground breaking body of work and wrote a whole new scripture for rap in Nigeria. Sadly that was the only body of work they ever released. In 2003, the group went defunct. Lovers of rap would love to have the three rappers unite for one rap album. They performed at the Headies in 2009, but that wasn't enough. People want a full album.

5) Fugees - The Fugees coming back is on the wish list of every music lover out there. Will Pras, Wyclef and Lauryn Hill ever come back to drop another album? Everyone prays for the day they would follow up their highly successful sophomore album in 1996. In 2005 it looked as if our prayers would have been answered when they went on tour, and started work on a new album. Unfortunately egos clash and the reunion project was disbanded. American OAP Funk Master Flex has claimed he is working on behind the scenes to get the group back. Let's hope and pray it works.
