There’s God in the details as AKA and Anatii, two of South Africa’s biggest Hip hop names come together for a joint album.

AKA and Anatii have a lot in common; they are rappers, singers and producers, who understand the music process from songwriting, down to engineering. It is this knowledge and a combination of all of these skills, that has been instrumental in their career success to date. That’s why a 10-track album feels like a case of ‘long time coming’.

The duo had earlier combined on the 2015 single ‘The Saga’, which showed the connection between both stars. They are able to find common ground in sound and theme, exploring the good life and all the benefits of being a star. But that isn’t all, the gratitude that they feel is also a binding bond for all of them, and they explore it in various ways. Other singles such as ’10 fingers’, and ‘Holy Mountain’, had reinforced this.

“BCWYWF” is part gospel, part materialism. Over songs such as ‘Bryanston Drive’, ‘Camps Bay 3’, the duo celebrate their wealth, success, and happiness that they derive from stardom.

But it all leads back to one place: Heaven, where God favours them above others, his providence, guiding their hearts, their music, and their steps. Life is all a celebration for AKA and Anatii. This album captures that and makes you tap into their state of mind, with a glass of champagne…of course.
