"Album launches should be an offering not a money-making venture"

Syndik8 records boss, Lynxxx thinks artistes should use album launches as an avenue to endear their work to the hearts of music lovers rather than just use it as a money-making venture.

Album launches may be a big, splashy affair in Nigeria where artistes make a nice tidy sum even before the work hits the streets, however for Syndik8 records boss, Lynxxx, this really shouldn't be the case.

Lynxxx who is set to release his sophomore album by the end of the first quarter of the year revealed exclusively to Pulse that although he started the trend of big album launches, he won't be towing that line this time around.

"I like to bring standards with my music and movement. So I'm not really going to go for a loud album release, I'm just going to do something intimate for press and music lovers. I don't think album launches should be a money-making venture, it should be an offering or sacrifice for people to actually buy into what you're selling, rather than buy your event and what you're selling"

So do you agree with Lynxxx that album releases should not be a money making venture? Share your thoughts with us in the comment section below.
