A complete timeline of singer’s time at G-Worldwide Entertainment

Taking in the full scope of Kiss Daniel's career, we’ve compiled a timeline on his stay at G-Worldwide Entertainment.

It comes as a both a shock and relief to many Nigerians that Kiss Daniel has left G-Worldwide Entertainment.

The singer has spent four years with the record label, where he was transformed from an obscure musician to a Nigerian pop star. He also released an album which was critically positive and performed at private concerts around the world.

But that journey is over, according to the singer who spoke with Pulse, and he is look forward to launch his personal record label, and grow his career to a new level as an indie artist. Taking in the full scope of his career, we’ve compiled a timeline on Kiss Daniel.

??? –2013: Kiss Daniel was born Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe in Ogun State, Nigeria. He hails from Abeokuta North, a local government area in Ogun State. His childhood was a struggling one, as he has said repeatedly. “I remember back in the day when we used to stay in a rat infested house in KUTO, Abeokuta,” He says. “And then 2 mother rats gave birth at once LORD… In days, The whole house was filled with rats, we had to stand on our dining table one night till dawn but my dad was the man, he killed some but then joined us soon enough on the dining table to rest his muscles … What a strong dining table.”

2013: Kiss graduated from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), in 2013, with a degree in Water Resources Management and Agrometeorology (Water Engineering). While at FUNAAB, he decided to pursue music as a career alongside his studies. He was signed to G-Worldwide Entertainment by Emperor Geezy, the label CEO.

May 1, 2014: Kiss Daniel begins to record music for his new record label. he drops his debut singles under G-Worldwide. They were titled 'Chidioke' and 'Shoye'  The latter was given the full promotional treatment with a video directed by MEX. The record did not become a hit.

September 1, 2014: After the failure of 'Shoye' to blow, Kiss Daniel began to work with DJ COublon, an unknown producer at the time. Their first single, 'Woju' became a hit record. It broke Kiss Daniel through into mainstream consciousness. The video by AJE became a hit by December.

February 28, 2015: 'Woju' has become a hit single, and clearly spread all over Nigeria. To consolidate on the growth G-Worldwide recorded a remix with Tiwa Savage and Davido, the only external guests he has had on his music. The song became an instant upgrade, extending the life of the record.

May 1, 2015: Kiss Daniel released the single 'Laye to consolidate his success.

July 23, 2015: G-Worldwide Entertainment new signee, DJ Shabsy drops video  for 'Raba'. The jam features Kiss Daniel and label mate Sugarboy. The video was shot in Lagos, Nigeria and directed by AJE Filmworks.

November 20, 2015: The song 'Good time' was released online, making it Kiss Daniel's thrid single since his breakthrough.

December 1, 2015:Wizkid and Kiss Daniel have announced on their Twitter accounts that they shall be working together on a collaborative track. That track never happened. But Wizkid made a cover of Kiss Daniel's 'Good time'.

January 1, 2016:  At the 2015 Headies, Kiss Daniel was nominated in four different categories. He won no award.

March 15, 2016: Kiss Daniel announces the release of his debut album titled “New Era” scheduled to be released in May 2016. The dour album artwork was roundly criticized.

April 4, 2016: Singer releases a new single 'Mama', to crank up the anticipation for his forthcoming album.

April 17, 2016: Kiss Daniel was a guest on 'Rubbin’ Minds' with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu. The rising star spoke on the controversy surrounding his age, his new album, his journey and more. The singer when asked by Obi-Uchendu to state his real age made it clear that 'my age is my business'. He said, "About the age stuff, my team we are putting out a press release on that. For now, I would love not to say anything. Because, its more than how old I am now."

May 14, 2016: Kiss Daniel drops his debut studio album “New Era.” Originally scheduled to be released on May 1, 2016, the album was however released on May 14, 2016 through G-Worldwide Entertainment, the album contains hit singles ‘Woju’, ‘Laye’, ‘Good Times’ and ‘Mama’.

May 15, 2016:Kiss Daniel holds his highly-promoted concert for the release of his debut album The event held at the Eko Hotels & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, on Sunday, 15 May, 2015. It was hosted by veteran MC, Olisa Adibua, with the music helmed by in-house disc jockey, DJ Shabsy.

July 4, 2016: In an interview with NotJustOk, on his reasons for not collaborating with artistes outside his label, Kiss Daniel said: "I’m signed to a record label and the management for now only allows me to collaborate with in-house artistes Dj Shabsy and Sugarboy. Maybe later I’ll do songs with other artistes but for now it’s out of it."

July 20, 2016: Kiss Daniel drops video for 'Jombo' off his album.

September 9, 2016: Kiss Daniel picks up two awards at the NEA 2016.

September 14, 2017: Comedian Koffi has gives reasons concerning why he expressed misgivings regarding the music career of G World Entertainment artiste, Kiss Daniel. The comedian gave another long speech about why he thinks the 'Woju' singer needs a better management in an interview with HFtv'sPrecious John.

December 22, 2016: Kiss Daniel wins big at the Headies 2016, picking up awards for the Best R&B/Pop album, Hip hop World Revelation, and Album of the Year.

April 11, 2017: Kiss Daniel tweets about his desire to be done and over with his record deal, after another year runs out.

May 15, 2017: Kiss Daniel opens his music account, drops '

July 1, 2017: CEO of G-Worldwide Entertainment, Festus Ehimare also known as Emperor Geezy, discloses his reason for taking the controversial  no-collaboration strategy. According to Geezy, it was is a business decision designed to benefit his company and his signed artists.

October 9, 2017: Kiss Daniel drops hit song 'Yeba', produced by Killertunes.

November 13, 2017:Kiss Daniel leaves his record label G-Worldwide Entertainment, the singer exclusively revealed to Pulse. The popular singer says he’s moving on to set up his own label where he’ll continue to function as an artiste and now as a CEO.
