Kendrick Lamar has revealed that he once had a studio session with Prince at the Paisley Park Estate in Minnesota last year, but they were too short on time to complete the collaboration.

Lamar was at the estate at the end of September 2014 for a Yahoo livestream to mark the release of Prince's two new albums, 'Art Official Age' and 'PlectrumElectrum', during which the rapper featured on a version of 'What's My Name'.

Lamar was working on his recently released album, 'To Pimp A Butterfly', at the time.Speaking about the studio session to US radio station Hot 97, Lamar said:"We was vibing, but we was pressed [for time] man... I didn’t trip over getting a song done."Lamar said that Prince gave him some career guidance, too. "I really appreciate the actual game he was giving me … He took control of his music... He was breaking down some things that I need to consider in my career… What [Jay Z] is doing is just confirmation from what Prince was telling me."

Kendrick Lamar has also unveiled the video to his single ‘King Kunta’, off his much-discussed album, ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’.
