New Choc boys song was leaked, sources reveal

A few hours ago, a new song by the Chocolate City all stars, titled ‘Summer Girl’ found its way online, to the delight of many fans.

But according to reports, the song was illegally made public without the consent of Chocolate City, nor the artistes involved.

The new song features M.I Abaga, Ice Prince, Jesse Jagz and Loose Kaynon, and although it has gone viral in the Nigerian internet space, it is yet to receive endorsements from all the featured artistes and Chocolate City management. A look through the social media handles of all the involved parties shows no mention of the song.

Simply put, they are ignoring it.

Chocolate City management, known for its aggressive promotion of new releases, currently have no mentions also, and their social media pages bear no information about the new song which was expected to gather some mileage for the group.

According to insider sources at Chocolate City, the leak of ‘Summer Girl’ is currently a cause for confusion in the Choc City camp as no one knew exactly how it got leaked.

A source who spoke to NET said: “There is a new song, but it’s not meant to be out yet.”

Recall that Chocolate City boss, Audu Maikori last week said that the label would be celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and there are surprises in store for fans.

Chocolate City also had a plan for a collaboration album with a properly structured release plan but the leak of ‘Summer Girl’ might have jeopardised the plan and the element of surprise that was being planned.
