Award Ceremony Postponed To December 14

The Headies will take place at the Eko Convention Centre

The 9th edition of urbane music and hip culture awards, The Headies, will now hold on December 14, 2014, according to an update provided by its organisers.

The Headies, which is Nigeria’s most consistent, and most credible honours platform was earlier scheduled to hold on October 25, 2014.

Executive Producer Ayo Animashaun says the event is returning to the Eko Convention Centre this year by popular demand. ‘It’s another opportunity to give Nigerians a spectacular show, and we’re working round the clock to do what we’re best known for’, Animashaun said.

There are twenty-one categories this year, with Phyno and KCEE leading the nominees’ list with five nominations each. Vying for the highly coveted Next Rated prize are Patoranking, Runtown, Orezi, Skales and Yemi Alade. This is undoubtedly the toughest awards yet.

‘It promises to be the best pre-Christmas gift yet’, Animashaun adds. ‘The artistes can’t wait, our nominees are excited; the entire industry is agog and we’re beyond excited.’

The event will be broadcast live on HipTv channel 324 on DSTV and 74 on GoTV. You can also watch the LIVE stream on www.hiptv.tv or follow the conversation on twitter @The_Headies and @HipTv.
