Sam Smith, Beyonce earn six nominations

Beyonce creates history despite being snubbed in the major categories of next year's Grammy awards.

The nominees for the 57th edition of the Grammys was released yesterday. In the nominees list, British singer Sam Smith was nominated in the four major categories, and two other categories.

He is tied with Beyonce who was nominated six times. She only got one major nod as her self-titled album picked a nomination in the Album of the Year category. Having being nominated six times, Beyonce has created a new record of being the woman to be nominated the most times at the Grammys.

Super producer Pharrell who just received his star in the Walk of Fame was nominated six times.
