It was interesting that the Mayor of Lagos got everybody drunk before he had a conversation with his constituents. You can guess what our conversations with the Mayor felt like...

A few weeks ago, Nigerian superstar, Mayorkun announced the title of his sophomore album, Back In Office. Since then, the rollout has included a second single, a beautiful cover art and some impressive digital billboards across Lagos and Nigeria.

On October 22, 2021, The Mayor of Lagos gathered the Nigerian music industry at Terra Kulture, Victoria Island, Lagos. The event was attended by celebrities like Ebuka, Davido, Lojay, Asa Asika, Moet Abebe, Laycon and more. Around 10 pm, the event proceeded in a packed venue.

It followed the concept of an office, in line with the album title. The stage was set with the regal props of a governor's office, complete with table, the flags and accompanying couch and centre table to address visitors. Ehiz opened the night with a brief but interesting introduction, which led an appropriately dressed Ebuka onto the stage.

Mayorkun soon followed and they broke down the story behind all the tracks on the album. The producers of each track also had their time in the spotlight.

A number of tracks got the place popping, but none received the reception of that track with Victony. A reader might want to look out for the album.

The album drops on October 29.
