Duprie’s new single is rising through the ranks
Following the release of his single “Le Ndem” approximately eight months ago, Duprie has been relatively quiet.
Nevertheless, despite haven’t worked on any major project thus far, Duprie has still managed to maintain a steady presence in the airwaves. Even without a single song or collaboration to kick off the year, Duprie is still off to a good start in 2022 thanks to his single “Le Ndem”. Released in June of last year, the song has gained significant traction. In addition to platforms such as Spotify and Soundcloud where it is gaining increasing number of streams, the song is also rising through the ranks on Audio Mack with 60 thousand streams in just over three weeks.
Duprie who recently confirmed that he has resumed work on his EP, did not disclose a release date but rather stated that the priority at this time is to shoot a video for his single “Le Ndem” and make the most of the buzz the song is currently receiving. Duprie also dismissed rumors that he recently signed three artists to his record label. While acknowledging that the goal of the label is to give emerging artists the opportunity to develop and showcase their talents, he also stated that the rumors unfortunately are false. However, he did give a glimpse of the potential for subsequent addition to his artist roaster by confirm ongoing talks with a few artists.
Without providing any details, Duprie disclosed that the title of his EP will be “D-Day” and stated that it will be a very diverse body of work ranging from Afropop and Afro-Swing to R&B/ Soul with some very interesting collaborations to go with it. He is very optimistic about the project and strongly believes it is going to be worth the wait and anticipation. Duprie is also establishing a sportwear brand called Damrex which is schedule to launch later this year.
