In a bid to create a global brand representative of hits from all countries around the world, international music streaming platform, Spotify’s global cultures editorial team has launched a new Afro Hub recognizing Burna Boy as one of the leading artistes on the Afrobeats scene.
A key feature of the Afro Hub is the playlist takeovers from artistes like Major Lazer, Burna Boy, Jacob Banks, Wizkid, and Bas & Mereba.
This will allow Burna Boy to create a playlist of his favorite songs under the Afro Hub, which will then be featured as a Spotify highlight. The announcement coincides with a 3-month YouTube campaign that focuses on Burna Boy as a global artiste on the rise.
The Global Cultures initiative exists to raise the profile of international music, and the new Afro Hub will include several tiers of content including news, podcasts and playlists such as African Heat (Top Hits), Peppeh (Early Bets), Gold Mine (Classics) and We Everywhere (X-Overs/Diaspora Hits), and playlists which will highlight the continent’s best tracks by region.
Burna Boy has enjoyed a renaissance with his music that has seen him take his 'Life On The Outside' tour to cities in the United States and the UK.

The much publicized Burna Boy headline concert at the Brixton Academy, O2 Arena in London held on Sunday night, October 7 before a sold out audience, and his performance on the night justified the excitement that his fans had ahead of the concert.
The venue was packed with the crowd formed out of people from different colour, gender and age, who had gathered to see their superstar on his 'Life On The Outside' tour.
