Born Oluseun Anikulapo Kuti on the 11 of January 1983 is a Nigerian musician and son of Afro beat Maestro, Fela Kuti. At the young age of 9, he expressed his desire for music to his father, who then let him play little roles with his band on stage and a few years at 15, Seun dropped his passion for American football and took over his late father’s Egypt ‘80’ band.

Best Known For: Seun took over the lead role in his father’s band, Egypt 80, he is the front man and saxophonist. He has travelled far and wide, taking Fela’s legacy with him. Seun shared the stage with Diana Ross at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert. The first American tour of the Egypt 80 band could only come about after some help from the worlds most famous Afro beat fan, Barack Obama, The President of America. London’s Olympic Park,

Seun has added his own raging rhythm clearly influenced by rap,he cites Dr Dre and Eminem among his musical heroes. He is signed under the record label The Knitting factory and still works with some of the producers who worked on his father’s music.

Seun who has since joining the band released two albums is currently working n the third, He plays monthly at the Shrine. Seun has given die hard Fela fans an opportunity to see live performances of some of his greatest hits and plays with the live band at The Shrine every month.

Seun was active in the January 2012 Occupy Nigeria protest against the removal of fuel subsidy.
