"I wasn't happy" says soul singer on struggles recording 'Bed of Stone' album

The France based singer opens up on the struggles she faced when recording her third studio album.

Award winning soul singer Asa has opened up on the struggles she faced when she was recording her latest album ''.

"Usually I would come to Lagos and get inspired by home and things that are familiar, that I grew up with, because I enjoy writing about home" Asa told Bloomberg TV Africa.

"This time around I came back to Lagos and I was empty. I didn't know what to write anout. I felt I had written all there was to write" said Asa on her lack of inspiration when she moved back home.

In a bid to get some inspiration, the singer who is the leading soul artiste in Nigeria said she travelled to places she had never been to, and places she had visited.

"After all this travelling, I did this album and when it was ready I just couldn't let it come out. I wasn't happy. I didn't feel comfortable" she revealed.

After a tussle with her album, Asa scrapped the album and travelled to Hastings, East Sussex in England to work on the Bed of Stone album again, which came out "great" according to the singer.

'Bed Of Stone' was released on August 25, 2014 and got a positive review on Pulse.

In the interview, Asa spoke on her musical influences, and Angelique Kidjo who is her inspiration.
