Tanzanian rep, Mayunga, has emerged the winner of the Airtel Trace Music Star, which kicked off early in the year.

Winner of the Tanzania Airtel Trace Music Star, Mayunga has emerged the overall winner of the talent search competition bankrolled by Airtel and Trace Urban.
Mayunga was revealed at the grand finale which had judges Akon, Devyne Stephens and Lynnsha select the winner of the pan-African music competition.
The Tanzanian emerged winner after the 13 finalists converged in a nail-biting head-to-head Grand Finale of epic proportions.
The event which held in Kenya was televised on Trace Urban Channel on DStv on Saturday, April 18, 2015, and also had Nigerian winner, Jitey Peters competing for the ultimate prize.
As the over all winner of the Airtel’s TRACE Music Star, Mayunga has nabbed a record deal with Universal Music, mentorship from Akon and promotion for a total value exceeding $500,000.
