Sam Smith dominates with 4 awards

The night’s big winner was Beck, whose album Morning Phase won Album of the Year in addition to Best Rock Album. The Best Album winner was announced by Prince and Kanye jokingly came on-stage to interrupt Beck.

Beck, Sam Smith, St. Vincent, and Kendrick Lamar were the big winners at the 2014 Grammy Awards.

The night’s big winner was Beck, whose album 'Morning Phase' won Album of the Year in addition to Best Rock Album. The Best Album winner was announced by Prince and Kanye jokingly came on-stage to interrupt Beck.

Meanwhile, Sam Smith beat out HAIM to win Best New Artist, and 'Stay With Me' was awarded both Song of the Year and Record of the Year. He also won Best Pop Vocal Album for In the Lonely Hour. During his acceptance speech for Record of the Year, Smith said, “I want to thank the man this record is about … for breaking my heart because you got me four Grammys.”

St. Vincent’s self-titled fourth album beat out Jack White, Arcade Fire, and Alt-J to win Best Alternative Album.

Jack White earned the Best Rock Performance Grammy for his song 'Lazaretto'.

Perhaps the most surprising winner of the evening, Aphex Twin’s Syro was awarded Best Dance/Electronica Album.

Kendrick Lamar’s 'i' won both Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance, topping nominees including Kanye West, Drake, and Childish Gambino. Meanwhile, Eminem’s 'The Marshall Mathers LP 2' was awarded Best Rap Album.

Tenacious D took home the Grammy for Best Metal Performance, beating out Mastodon, Motörhead, Slipknot, and Anthrax.

“Weird Al” Yankovic’s Mandatory Fun won the Grammy for Best Comedy Album.

Glen Campbell won the Grammy for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for 'I’ll Be Me'.

Pearl Jam earned only their second Grammy ever after Lightning Bolt picked up the award for Best Recording Package.

In one of the night’s big upsets, Pharrell Williams’ 'Happy' beat Sam Smith and Taylor Swift to win Best Pop Vocal Performance. Pharrell also picked up Best Urban Contemporary Album for 'G I R L', and his innovative 24-hour music video for 'Happy' earned the award for Best Music Video
