Just like Hollywood films, Bollywood films have garnered a lot of attention in Nigeria. Since the importation of Indian films into Nigeria for distribution, the Bollywood fan base has grown quickly in the last 50 years.

Talking about films, Zee World Africa is set to screen a couple of films starring top Indian actors including: Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan. Pulse Nigeria presents a list of movies showing this month on the channel. 

"36 China Town" – October 10

Directed by Abbas Mustan, the film released in 2006 is an adaptation of a 1960 Italian movie titled “Crimen”. It features Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Synopsis: When Sonia Chang, a wealthy casino owner in Goa, India, is found dead in her luxurious home at 36 China Town, Chief Inspector Karan investigates. After discovering that Chang's young son is missing, Karen becomes frustrated. Worse yet, at every turn he finds a new suspect -- from gorgeous dancer Priya (Kareena Kapoor) to gambler Natwar and his alluring wife, Gracy  -- each with a compelling reason to want Chang dead.

Originally released in 2011, “Bin Bulaye Baarati” stars Aftab Shivdasani and Priyanka Kothari. Chandrakant Singh directed the action film.

Synopsis: Two criminals rob the Police Commissioner's residence; and end up in a stolen vehicle with a jewellery-laden suitcase worth Rs.50 Crores that belongs to a gangster. Now on the run from both the law and thugs they two disguise themselves as police in a small village. They decide to make themselves at home - not realizing that soon they will not only be pitted against the police but also Durjan the gangster.

“Shaadi Se Pehle” is a romantic comedy with a cast made up of Akshay Khanna, Mallika Sherawat, Sunil Shetty, Aftab Shivdasani, and Ayesha Takia.

Synopsis: Ashish and Rani fall in love at first sight but Rani’s father only approves if Ashish is financial secure. Ashish land a good job and soon has all the luxuries that he had always dreamed of. It is then Ashish finds out that he has cancer, and he begins to create a misunderstandings between him and Rani, confessing to Rani that he has loved Sania, a model. Rani breaks off the engagement. Ashish soon realizing Sania’s brother Anna extorts him and he is forced to marry Sania or else he will be hunted down and killed by his gang.

The suspense filled film sees Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Vivek Oberoi playing lead roles.

Synopsis: Ehsaan, a University Professor meets Avantika, a fellow professor and they both fall in love with each other. The couple get married and re-locate to live in the United States. They buy a house, settle in, and are welcomed by their neighbors. A few days later Avantika's world turns upside down when she finds out that their neighbours are terrorists, who want to avenge the deaths of innocent Iraqi and Afghani civilians massacred by British and American forces, and that her husband is not who he claims to be.
