Where are the former contestants now?

Idyl has been crowned the winner of The Voice Nigeria season 2, but where are the finalists from the show's 1st season?

The singing competition quickly became a success in the reality series genre as viewers religiously followed the show and discussed the outcome of each episode on social media.

While the show is a success which rakes in profit for the organizers, are its contestants equally successful in their post-The Voice career?

On Sunday, June 18, 2017, the second season of the series made its debut, and as expected, viewers tuned in to watch the contestants duke it out for this season's crown.

Let's take a look at what these finalists have been up to since we last saw them in 2016.

1. A'rese

A'rese blew away three of the coaches during her blind audition with her rendition of Adele's 'Skyfall.' She ended up joining Waje's team and taking home the title when the season ended.

In February 2017, she released the visual to her single ‘UWE NO’ which features Ladi Poe.

A'rese currently leads the Africa Magic TV series "Jemeji" as Senami George.

2. Brenda Adigwe

For her blind auditions, Brenda performed ‘Why Don’t You Love Me’ by Beyonce and secured a place in #Team2baba.

Following her run on The Voice Nigeria, Brenda released her debut single titled “Stand."

3. Chike

Chike performed a rendition of James Arthur’s “Roses,” which got him the first four-turns of the night during his blind auditions.

He went for Patoranking as his coach, and ended up as the first runner-up. In March 2017, Chike released the music video for his first single, "Fancy U".

He currently stars in the Africa Magic TV series "Battleground" as Mayowa.

4. Cornel

Cornel’s soulful take on ‘When A Woman Loves’ by R.Kelly landed him a spot on Team Timi.

He impressed on the show, and afterwards, he dropped the visuals to his debut single titled ““, produced by the Johnny Drille.

5. Patrick

Patrick Effiom landed a spot on Team Patoranking after singing ‘You and I’ by John Legend during his blind auditions.

During a Battle Round, he performed ‘Let Me Love You’ by Mario, but their coach chose to saveChike, while Waje stole Patrick.

Still focused on music, Patrick recently released a single titled "Aye Ole."

6. Dewe

Sola Adedewe popularly known as Dewé performed a rendition of ‘Take Me to Church' by Hozier, which got him three turns and landed him on Team Waje. 

During a battle round, Michael and Dewe performed ‘Against All Odds’ by Mariah Carey. WhileWaje chose Michael, Timi stole Dewe.

After the singing competition, Dewe released his first official single titled "No Be Beans."

7. Viveeyan

During her blind audition, Viveyaan performed Jhene Aiko’s ‘I Don't Need You," which landed her a spot on Timi Dakolo's team.

During a battle round, Armstrong and Viveeyanperformed One Republic's 'Counting Stars.'  Timi opted to save Armstrong, while 2Baba stole Viveeyan.

The singer released a single 'The Bull’s Eye' months after her appearance on the show.

8. Nonso

Nonso made the decision to join Team Waje after his rendition of Seal's Kiss From A Rose made all four judges turn their chairs.

Months after the show, Nonso featured on  VJ Adams' song titled “My Dreams."

He currently plays Dr Emeka on Africa Magic new telenovela, "Battleground."

Update: On Sunday, September 24,  2017, Team Timi's Idyl beat Jahtell, Ebube, J'Dess, Yimika, Wow, Symeca and Chris Rio to win the grand prize of a record deal with Universal Music Africa, a GAC car and an all expense paid trip to Dubai.
