Directed by D.J. Caruso (xXx: Return of Xander Cage), the religious-based drama is based on Francine Rivers’ novel of the same title, which has remained on numerous fiction bestseller lists for 15 years and counting. Also, it has been published in more than 30 different languages.

'Redeeming Love' is a love story against the backdrop of the California Gold Rush of 1850 and centers on Angel (Abigail Cowen), who was sold into prostitution as a child. She has endured hatred and self-loathing until she meets Michael Hosea (Tom Lewis) and discovers there is no brokenness that love can’t heal.

The film also stars Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev Logan Marshall-Green, Eric Dane(Euphoria) and Famke Janssen(Power, How to get away with murder).

In the trailer, we are prepared for Angel's story, which is tumultuous and contains hardship. But the romance complemented with a biblical narrative shows that God’s love is for all no matter what our past or present. And as Lauren Daigle’s “Rescue” playout throughout the 2-minute trailer, we’re reminded again that God can and will rescue each and every one of us.

Written by Francine Rivers, This book this film is based on was an enormous success when it was first published in 1991. It sold over three million copies at a time when literal success was commercially limited. The author herself was already a successful historical romance novelist before she became a Christian in 1986. Her spiritual revival led to a professional one. She blended her familiarity with romance tropes and her new interest in the Bible to tell a story that works on a romantic and spiritual level.
