Watch Kunle Afolayan, Kate Henshaw in teaser for psychological thriller

"Roti" follows the story of a wife, who goes into depression after she sees a boy who is an exact replica of her dead son.

A collaboration between African Magic films and Golden Effects Pictures, the psychological thriller will premiere on May 5, 2017.

The movie tells the story of how, years after a couple loses their son called Roti to a brief illness, the wife sees a boy called Juwon who is an exact replica of her dead son.

After discovering that Juwon is not a reincarnation of Roti, she is washed anew by grief and soon descends into depression and consequent hysteria.

Synopsis

The psychological limits and endurance of a couple are stretched after the wife, Diane, suddenly sees an exact replica of her dead son (five years after his death), walking leisurely home from a different school and living an entirely different life.

The emotional ramifications of this experience becomes near damning.

"Roti"  features Kate Henshaw, Kunle Afolayan, Toyin Oshinaike, Fathia Balogun and Darimisire Afolayan.

The thriller is one of the three films commissioned by MultiChoice and directed by Afolayan. The other movies include the comedy movie "Omugwo," and the upcoming "Tribunal."
