Media giant expands local production on entertainment channels

This would include an international comedy festival (Comedy Central), and a Nigerian version of family friendly festival NickFest (Nickelodeon).

 

Pan-African broadcaster, Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) Africa is celebrating its tenth anniversary by making its biggest ever investment in content for African audiences.

The network will grow investment in local productions aimed at entertaining viewers from 4 to 40+ across its growing suite of entertainment channels, including  (DStv channel 122),(DStv channel 305),  (DStv channel 307),  (DStv channel 308), (DStv channel 130),  (DStv channel 322) and  (DStv channel 135).

Alex OkosiSenior Vice President & Managing Director, VIMN Africa, Commented:  “We are excited about our 2015/16 slate of high quality content that will engage our African viewers across multiple genres including stand-up comedy, music specials, entertainment news, chart shows and awards properties.”

Other exciting plans in the pipeline for 2015/16 include the creation of brand new themed events for VIMN Africa’s comedy, kids and general entertainment channels.

This would include an international comedy festival (Comedy Central), and a Nigerian version of family friendly festival  (Nickelodeon).

As always, the network will continue to stage and broadcast its renowned annual international event franchises from around the world including the  (MTV/MTV Base, 25 October 2015), the  (MTV/MTV Base, August 2016), (MTV/MTV Base, April 2016),BET Honors(BET, February 2016), (June 2015), (October 2015),  (BET, April 2016) and  (March 2016).
