Universal Pictures Studio reaches $3.8 billion at worldwide box office in 6 months

With half of the year left, Universal Pictures has raced to $3.8 billion at the worldwide box office, setting new record.

The new achievement is courtesy of their box office dominating movies 'Jurassic World,' 'Furious 7', 'Fifty Shades of Grey' and 'Pitch Perfect.'

 

Its 'Jurassic World'  grossed $1 billion at the worldwide box office, 13 days after release (faster than any other movie).

'Furious 7' is currently the fourth-highest-grossing film of all time with 'Avatar,' 'Titanic' and b Avengers' leading the way.

  • Universal Studio is currently the fastest studio to reach $1 billion at the domestic box office, $2 billion at the international box office and $3 billion at the worldwide box office.

  • The studio also had the highest opening ever at the domestic box office.

  • The studio also had the biggest second-weekend internationally with $163.4 million, courtesy of 'Jurassic World.'
