Actress reveals reason for absence, says she's fully back to acting

On Absence.

Being away from Nollywood started intentionally on my part; but my protracted absence wasn't part of the plan. It started with me rejecting a couple of scripts, scripts with roles that had no artistic appeal for me and so would have contributed nothing to the growth my career.

The rumors started sometime after, some had it that I'd willingly stopped acting, others said my husband forbade me to act. Then I heard I wasn't getting jobs because I was banned for acting in TK's Thunderbolt which was considered a Yoruba film, making me a Yoruba actor.

Well, time just went by. When nothing was forth coming from other producers and my own production company, I decided it was perhaps time to focus on other areas of interest and so I turned my attention to writing: screenplays, series, stage plays and children's books.

Now four of my children's books have been published. Two; ' and via traditional publishing and are being used in schools, and another two, and as E-books. A host of others are in various stages of production.

On Return.

I just concluded shoot on a film written and produced by Yinka Ogun, creator of Tinsel. I played the lead role, as the wife of a philandering husband. I recently got a role in a daily series and productions are ongoing. (I'm not at liberty to mention the Title) I can say however, that it's a role I'm loving more and more with every day of shoot. It's unlike any role I've played in the past and has nothing in common with my personality. I still feel a tinge of rustiness though; a result of not having practiced in a long time but I'm gradually slipping back into that rare and wonderful ability to assume a role and be all that the character entails.
