In this exclusive interview with Pulse Nigeria, the actor spoke on how he started his career, the journey so far, and more.

On kicking off his career;

"Before 2006, I had been doing one or two church dramas. I can say I started acting professionally in 2006, really.

I did one or two things in 2006. I did ‘Edge of Paradise,’ I did a show called ‘Super Story,’ I did a movie called ‘Twisted.’

I was in school during this period, and at some point my grades were beginning to get affected, so I took a break. I came back to acting late 2011."

On getting professional training in 2006;

“At that time not particularly. But as the years have gone by, I have attended one or two workshops here and there.

I have studied actors, I have expanded my scope of acting from books, and I’m learning on the job also."

According to the actor who considers training very key, he would still acquire formal training on acting.

On breaking into the industry;

“It wasn’t easy. It still isn’t easy. On several occasions I wanted to throw in the towel. You go for auditions upon auditions, and nothing seems to be coming out of it.

I feel particularly blessed. For every time that I wanted to quit, something always came up to keep me in the game.

My heart really goes out to emerging actors, people who are really passionate about acting. My heart really goes out to them because I know how difficult it can be. "
