Meet Nollywood filmmaker, TOPE OSHIN, an alumni of Colorado Film School, Aurora, Denver and multiple award winning filmmaker.
Tope has worked in TV and Film as a Director, Producer, Actor, Dialogue Coach and Casting Director. She also studied Theatre Arts, TV and Film Production from the Lagos State University, Ojo and finished as The Best Graduating Student in year 2000, and for further development was recently one of the 300 participants at Berlinale Talents 2015, selected out of over 2,500 applications from filmmakers in 150 countries across the world.
She was the only female Director on M-Net’s multiple awards winning multi-cam daily soap opera ‘Tinsel’ in the first 5 seasons, and shot about 350 episodes of the show.
In appreciation of her performance, she was made the Box/Content Producer in the third season overseeing the entire technical and creative crew and 4 directors and supervised the creative production of all 165 episodes in that season.
In its 1st season, Tope was hired to coach the actors in performance techniques as regards acting for screen. Currently in its 7th season, these same actors have become the toast of the show.
Tope owns Sunbow Productions Ltd (www.sunbowproductions.com) and runs a Casting Agency (SunBow-Cast) on the side and has offered casting services for notable TV shows and movies like 'Rush', 'Tinsel', 'Journey To Self', 'New Horizon'and most recently MTV BASE's award winning drama series 'SHUGA 3' and EL Series Project 2015.
Within her experience as Supervising Producer and Production Consultant, she has accepted and reviewed over 40 screenplays from different writers and filmmakers in readiness for production.
Also consulted on and supervised the production of over 25 tv film productions, working with over 26 young filmmakers to develop their movies from concept to final cut.
In giving back, Tope has lent her voice and skill as a facilitator at the British Council Creative Industries Expo Professional Clinic in 2011, Gist/Nollywood Workshops 2014 on "Writing for the screen" and delivered a paper at the Enterprise Creative Freelance Friday Clinic in 2013, all in Lagos.
In 2014, Temitope was featured on a hit reality show on cable TV, following her making of a short film on domestic violence, New Horizons, from scratch to finish.
Tope is officially 'verified' on Google+ and has been featured on CNN's Inside Africa while directing the feature length movie titled 'Journey To Self’, and on German TV, DW Deutshe Welle TV, while attending Berlinale 2015.
Tope currently directs the much talked about Tele-Novella, Hotel Majestic while working underground developing her next film projects.
