Omoni Oboli thanks fans for making movie 2015's "highest grossing movie"

Nigerian filmmaker, Omoni Oboli, took to her Twitter account to thank her fans for making her second directorial debut, "The First Lady," the highest grossing Nigerian movie of the year.

 

Omoni Oboli's "The First Lady," recently undefined, and according to the actress, the movie is currently the 'highest grossing Nigerian movie of the year."

Unlike most Nollywood movies, the Omoni Oboli film is still showing in some cinemas, in its eighth week.

The Nigerian filmmaker took to her Twitter account to thank her fans for making her second directorial debut, "The First Lady," the highest grossing Nigerian movie  in 2015.

Starring Oboli as Michelle, and Alexx Ekubo as Obama, the movie also stars Chinedu Ikedieze, Joseph Benjamin, Yvonne Jegede, Udoka Oyeka and Tony Monjaro, and is directed and produced by Omoni Oboli.

Plot.

In a classic Cinderella like story, a prostitute, Michelle, is stuck in a world she couldn't escape from. Her hope that one day a Prince Charming would rescue her from it all, seems lost .

A heir to an empire, Kenechi, is transformed into a child by an overly ambitious uncle who wants the empire to himself.

Bound by a shared destiny, Michelle finds that she might be doing the rescuing until she realises there's no escaping her pimp (Obama), who would do anything to keep her as his First Lady.
