Nigerian filmmaker, Omoni Oboli, took to her Twitter account to thank her fans for making her second directorial debut, "The First Lady," the highest grossing Nigerian movie of the year.

Unlike most Nollywood movies, the Omoni Oboli film is still showing in some cinemas, in its eighth week.

Starring Oboli as Michelle, and Alexx Ekubo as Obama, the movie also stars Chinedu Ikedieze, Joseph Benjamin, Yvonne Jegede, Udoka Oyeka and Tony Monjaro, and is directed and produced by Omoni Oboli.

In 2014, AY Maknun's "30 Days in Atlanta" grossed 76million Naira seven weeks after it's premiere.
It went further to bring in a total of 137million Naira, making it the highest grossing movie in the Nigerian cinema history.
