Tana Adelana says Nollywood needs finiancial support and more original African stories to grow. The actress also dished out on the ideal duration for shooting a movie.
In an interview with Pulse Nigeria, Nigerian actress and presenter, Tana Adelana, spoke on what Nollywood needs to grow among other things.
"We need a lot of support. I, as small as I'm, I'm producing. If you think about it, I don't have that kind of money to produce the kind of movies that are exportable.
Just a few people are able to do that because the funding is not there, and even when the funding is there, a certain group of people sit on it." she added.
The actress also added that Nollywood needs to tell more original stories.
"We need to continue to bring out original African stories. Let's not try to deviate from what we are known for." - she said.
Also on her list of what Nollywood needs to grow is that filmmakers need to stop rush work.
"We also need to stop rush work. Sometimes it's crazy, you have to shoot a movie in 7 days, and then people actually judge you from that,' the actress said.
Speaking on ideal time duration for shooting a movie, the actress turned producer said;
"two weeks for a normal drama movie, and 3 weeks or one month for anything technical."
