A female stunt person has been killed in a motorcycle crash on the set of "Deadpool 2."
The tragic incident happened in Vancouver on Monday, August 14, 2017, after Harris lost control of her motorbike while filming an action sequence.
Her death was announced by Vancouver police, who are investigating the unexpected incident.
"People were running on the sidewalk, the motorcycle comes flying across the street, looks like from a ramp because it was in the air,” a witness told Global News.
“She was standing on the bike, slams into that building, clearly hit and out of control and clearly not planned.”
According to reports, she was acting as a stunt double for Zazie Beetz, who plays Domino in the upcoming Marvel superhero film, which is also believed to be Harris' first as a stunt driver.
A professional road racer, Harris was the first licensed black woman in U.S. history to actively compete in AMA (American Motorcyclist Association) sanctioned motorcycle road racing events.
Ryan Reynolds who plays the disfigured and unstable mercenary, Wade Wilson, in the comedy movie, paid his tribute via a touching post on Twitter.
"Deadpool" which has a June 1, 2018, release date is the sequel to the 2016 film that grossed over 363 million dollars domestically.
