Stephen Colbert to host 68th edition
CBS has announced that The Late Show host, Stephen Colbert, will host the 69th annual awards ceremony.

According to CBS executive Jack Sussman, “Stephen is the ultimate master of ceremonies with award-winning creative talents, and as we’ve seen the past few months, he has a fearless passion for live television.”
Issuing a statement, Colbert a first time Master of Ceremonies said, “This will be the largest audience to witness an Emmys, period. Both in person and around the globe.”
Nominations for the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards will be announced Thursday, July 13, 2017, while the event will be broadcast LIVE from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 17, 2017.

HBO series "Game of Thrones," won the best drama series for the second year in a row, at the 2016 Emmys.
The 2016 Emmys was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, with winners including"Game of Thrones," "Veep," "The People v. O.J. Simpson," Rami Malek among others.
