Transformer star actor Shia LaBeouf has revealed that he was asked to send pictures of his manhood and a sex tape before gaining the lead role in Lars Von Trier’s X-rated Nymphomaniac. The method actor disclosed that he was ‘surprised’ when the request came in months ago.

In a recent interview, the 27 year old actor explained, “The first info we got and I'll never forget this because my entire team reacted with such a fear - the first request on the production end, not from Lars, was pictures of my penis.”

In a later interview with E! Chelsea Handler in 2012, the actor admitted that he had to send a sex tape too before finally winning the role, “I sent him video tapes of me and my girlfriend having sex and that's how I got the job.”

Adding to the shocker, Shia disclosed to MTV that all scenes in the movie including the sex was real and that is why Youtube had to take down the trailer for Lars von Trier's controversial film Nymphomaniac after breaching the site's rules on nudity and sexual content. “It is what you think it is. There's a disclaimer at the top of the script that basically says we're doing [the sex] for real. And anything that is 'illegal' will be shot in blurred images, but other than that, everything is happening.” However, the 57 second clip was later release on the film’s official YouTube channel with a ‘warning block’.

Nymphomaniac talks of a 22 year old lady called Joe (Stacy Martin), a self-diagnosed nymphomaniac who regales an older bachelor with stories of her sexual exploit after being found beaten in an alleyway.

Shia was willing to act the movie's pornographic scenes and says,'I have ethics. I'm not completely out of my mind,' he says.

'But I don't think there's anything wrong with sex. Sex is beautiful if it's done right. And I wouldn't just do it for no reason... Sex is different than love, and there is a separation, and that middle gap is what the movie's about.'

The movie will be released in the US in two parts, first on March 21 and second April 18.
