Sam Claflin is set to star as legendary soccer player, Robin Friday, in upcoming biopic.

Based on the biography Biopic is to be directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker, Henry-Alex.

To be produced by Mike Young, Julian Stone and Paolo Hewitt, the biopic will be shot in UK this fall.

According to reports, the upcoming biopic will also include casting real-life professional soccer players.

The late English soccer legend, Robin Friday, played for Reading and Cardiff, Wales in the 1970s and died at the age of 38.

“This will not just be a film about cheering a goal, but about tears and laughs and music and silence and anger and love…because this working-class hero with outrageous talent lived it all". - producer Stone said.
