Pulse Movies reel out five Yoruba actresses to watchout for in 2017.
From Yewande Adekoya to Mercy Ebosele, check out five best actors to watchout for in 2017, in no particular order.
Tayo Adeniyi made her name acting in several movies produced by the members of the Abeokuta caucus of the movie industry. Ever since she caught the eyes of other producers, she has been a recurring face in several Nollywood movies. In 2016, she ranked high as one of the frequently used actresses for a supporting character or lead character in all the movies she featured in. Judging by her endowed body features and ability to interpret roles, she will be getting more roles in 2017.
Yewande Adekoya Abiodun
Yewande Adekoya Abiodun made her mark when she acted in an indigenous Yoruba movie five years back and has since been making appearances in several Nollywood movies. Her strength remains her versatility and ability to put herself in her roles, making it glaring to differentiate her recent role from the last. Her command of English Language has also been one of her characteristics as she was frequently used in many movies in 2016. 2017 is looking good for her as it is been bandied about that she is currently engaged in several productions scheduled for release in 2017.
Mercy Ebosele has been around for a while but she became one of the frequently used faces in 2015. She has grown steadily in the make-believe world and has been able to regularly get herself movie roles that put her in the spotlight. Her role interpretations have not only caught the attention of Abeokuta movie producers but also the Odunfa caucus, Adebayo Salami and Femi Adebayo’s attention.
Jumoke Odetola is without doubt one of the young Yoruba actresses destined for the zenith. Her co-produced movie did not only get a nomination at the 2016 AMVCAs but also got her an African recognised award. Rather than bask in the euphoria of the moment, Odetola has remained steadfast pushing out her brand and leaving fans and viewers to ask for more. Jumoke once said the sky isn’t her starting point but focal point of entry.
Though 2016 was a memorable year for Toyin Abraham where she was caught in the web of her personal life, she was able to rise against odds to throw herself into her career. The career-driven actress was busy on several movie sets in 2016 and majority of the productions are scheduled for release in 2017. Topping what will be her major success in 2017 is the Alakada Reloaded, which has not only been garnering several acts on set but is set to change the face of the actress.
