Based on the twisted and popular ‘90s comic book franchise of the same name, “Preacher,” the series tells the story a Preacher, who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that allows him to develop a highly unconventional power.

AMC has revealed the first five minutes of its much anticipated new series undefinedwhich will premiere on Sunday, May 22, following the mid-season finale of "Fear the Walking Dead."

The upcoming TV series which is developed by Evan Goldberg, Seth Rogen and Sam Catlin for AMC, is an adaptation of the comic book series created by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon.

"Preacher" was officially picked up on September 9, 2015, with a ten-episode order.

Plot.

Based on the twisted and popular ‘90s comic book franchise of the same name, “Preacher” tells the story of Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper) a conflicted Preacher in a small Texas town who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that allows him to develop a highly unconventional power. Jesse, his ex-girlfriend, Tulip (Ruth Negga), and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) embark on a journey to, literally, find God.

The AMC series stars Dominic Cooper as Jesse Custer, Joseph Gilgun as Cassidy the vampire, Ruth Negga as Tulip, Colletti as  Arseface, W. Earl Brown as Sheriff Hugo Root, Lucy Griffiths as Emily Woodrow, and Elizabeth Perkins as Vyla Quinncannon.
