Olumide Bakare has passed away following a prolonged battle with a respiratory disorder.
The Nollywood actor died in the early hours of Saturday, April 22, 2017, according to his personal assistant who was with him at the time of his passing.

Tribune Online reports that Bakare who has been sick for over a year was discharged from the University College Hospital (UCH) in 2016 after he was diagnosed with a respiratory disorder.
According to the reports, the actor was yet to fully recover from the sickness that has kept him out of the movies scene and the eye of the public.
Bakare's health reportedly got worse during the course of the night and he reportedly called his personal assistant to take him to UCH but died before he could be rushed to the hospital.
The veteran actor was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.

Nollywood actor, Saidi Balogun, confirmed the sad news to Tribune Online, expressing shock over his colleague's passing.
“Yes, it is true Olumide Bakare is dead. He died on his way to his hospital. When I called his number, his personal assistant picked his phone and told me he was dead. That’s how much I can say for now.”
Bakare never recovered from his ailment. May his soul rest in peace.
