According to Charles Novia, the new film is shooting on 35mm and has taken up to 3 years to gain its grounds. The crew is set to travel to the USA in October to shoot some of the major scenes. Novia has confirmed that Fransic Duru has been undergoing months of serious Fashek-character and guitar lessons to effectively fit into that role.

Former Super Eagles midfielder J.J Okocha has much love and respect for the legendary Majek Fashek and reggae music and so when he got hints about super producer, Charles Novia's struggling pursuit to get his 1 million dollar Fashek film on the road, he was glad to step in. Charles Novia will handle the screen play of course and his choice of Francis Duru to play Majek still stands. Other big Nollywood faces to star in this true live tale include: Sam Dede and Stella Damascus.
Francis Duru has proudly endorsed of Majek Fashek’s worldwide recognition and admitted to the legend’s public struggle with drugs and says, “a movie of his life and career has to meet a world class. I’m proud to be him even in a movie”.
This film is finally happening and we can’t wait to see its production and what the box office will be saying.
