NANTAP mourns legendary actor and comedian, Baba Sala, after he was announced dead on Sunday, October 7, 2018.

In a statement by the association's president, Isreal Eboh, NANTAP extended the heartfelt condolences of members to the family of Moses Adejumo on the death of the legendary and iconoclastic comic artiste.
Describing the passing of Baba Sala as the end of an era, Eboh said this is so because the late Baba Sala as the last of his generation of pioneers of Nigerian theatre.
The NANTAP boss said the NANTAP joined the family and other admirers in mourning the elder artiste who had a distinguished career as a thespian.
"He brought joy to millions and exemplified the spirit of adventure synonymous with most Nigerians. He created many classics that will ensure his memory lives with us forever" Eboh said.
The thespian association boss added further that the late actor has left an indelible mark and an impressive legacy of courage, dedication, hardwork, discipline and commitment to the theatre vocation.
Lai Mohammed mourns late actor, Moses Olaiya
The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has expressed sadness over the death of Moses Olaiya, popularly known as Baba Sala.
Baba Sala died in his Ilesa hometown in Osun State on Sunday evening, October 7, 2018.
In a statement on Monday, October 8, 2018, the Minister said the death has robbed the nation of an incomparable thespian and a colossus of his time.
He described Baba Sala as a trail blazer, as he - along with his contemporaries – laid the foundation for the theatre and comedy that have now taken Nigeria's creative industry by storm.
